On behalf of the ANVC Board of Directors, I’m writing to share with you some exciting news about our organization. ANVC has experienced tremendous growth over the past two years, with recruitment of hundreds of new members, most of whom have gone on to achieve prestigious certification as an NVRN and/or an ANVP provider. As a relatively new organization, we are thrilled with this growth and are in the process of rolling out new resources for our members, along with opportunities for member involvement.
First, we’d like to introduce you to our new website. Please take a moment and go to www.anvc.org, and while there, we’d like you to take a few minutes to update your member profile so that we have your most current contact information. We also recommend that you take a few minutes to meet your colleagues on our Board of Directors, as this is currently being updated. If you are certified as an NVRN or ANVP, please note that the website is your source for recertification instructions and the recertification application. ANVC products are also expanding, and over the next several months you will see some outstanding offerings to assist you and your interdisciplinary colleagues in your clinical practice.
ANVC is very proud to announce our new Medline cited scientific journal, Interventional Neurology. In partnership with the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN), ANVC is now offering members online access to Interventional Neurology, the official journal of both SVIN and ANVC. Dr. Anne Alexandrov, PhD, AGACNP-BC, ANVP-BC, FAAN, Dr. David Liebeskind, MD, and Dr. Sandy Middleton, PhD are Co-Associate Editors of ANVC’s new Stroke Clinician section of the journal. This section will feature clinically relevant articles dealing with subjects such as preparation for comprehensive stroke center certification, research papers addressing important clinical topics, pro-con debates, evidence-based practice protocols, and other topics of interest to interdisciplinary stroke providers. We hope that you will consider submitting manuscripts to the Stroke Clinician, and we know that you will enjoy reading each issue. Watch the website for details on how to log in to access the journal.
ANVC is also pleased to offer to its members a $500 USD discounted registration to the NET SMART Advanced Practice (AP) program, or a $50 discounted registration to the NET SMART Junior Program. Both the NET SMART AP and Junior programs are recognized internationally and endorsed by numerous international organizations for excellence in clinical acute neurovascular practice. We encourage our members to consider furthering their professional development by participating in NET SMART. You can learn more about the NET SMART program by clicking on the link on the ANVC website.
Lastly, we are issuing a call for nomination to positions on our Board of Directors, our Nominating Committee, the Certification-Membership Committee, and our Education Committee. We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or another member colleague for these positions. Watch the website for details on the nominations process.
As a membership organization committed to supporting excellence in neurovascular clinical practice, we need YOU to help us build resources to support excellence in stroke care.
Your voice and your vision are important to our future growth. We encourage you to stay connected, to visit www.anvc.org often so that you stay aware of new opportunities and resources, and we thank you for your commitment to stroke care.
